Introduction to Educational Projects

Home | Educational Projects

The "Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Mathematical Science and Engineering" of the Program for Enhancing Systematic Education in Graduate Schools is an ambitious project based on the educational program undertaken by the Department of Mathematics and Information Sciences, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Graduate School of Science and Engineering at Tokyo Metropolitan University with the aim of developing professionals "who can think from both a scientific and engineering perspective." This system aims "to construct a science/engineering interdisciplinary educational program in which the teaching staff and students of the three departments interact with each other through mathematics and mathematical model simulations and to give graduate school education more substance thereby improving the level of specialized education in each of these departments."
Here, we describe four key aspects of this system.
